loyd Cole, British writer/singer—once leader of the group The Commotions—is
told to have performed (on several occassions) a live version
of Being boring with different
lyrics. Unfortunately, none of these performances were ever officially
published, but there is a rather poor recording made by one of the fans,
which reveals the cover as being guitar-driven and somewhat similar to Merril
Bainbridge’s effort.
The anectode says that one time Cole met Pet Shop Boys at the restaurant and asked Neil to write him the chords on a napkin.
